A SPORT FOR YOU
RINGO USA  INTERNATIONAL  EQUIPMENTS  USA OPEN 2008  WHAT IS RINGO

Ringo is an individual and team sport played with a round rubber ring called a Ringo ring. This ring has a decompression vent riffled on top and bottom surfaces with a diameter of 17 cm and weighs 160-165 grammes. It’s stable in flight and does not course injuries to the
fingers of both the children and adults.
Ringo is the most democratic sport in the world today where a poor shepherd from Pyrenees has equal chances as the king of Sweden.
All the equipments it needs may be if necessary, put together from whatever is at hand under any conditions in Alaska snow, the sand of Sahara, the Lido beach, a mountain pasture in Himalayas, a clearing in a forest, you can easily set up a field and find at least one
person willing to join in.
Ringo is not only a sport; it’s a whole new way of thinking, a sense of responsibility for ones own and for others. Ringo’s special quality has prompted its originator and other people of good will to popularize this sport so that it becomes a world and an Olympic
sport. Giving every man a fine chance of self-improvement and the right to sport. Such right is the foundation of full development of the human personality. It is the right to the realization of the dignity of human person.
Ringo has everything for everybody. Its rules ensure maximum effectiveness, accessibility and safety. A child and a retired person, a violin virtuoso and a prizefighter, a shorthand writer, a surgeon and a pilot can play it with no fear that they will injure their
fingers! Ringo means total movement, all the sports of the world brought to a common denominator, a universal sport for all developing all qualities needed by man in contemporary civilization Ringo is doing it all in a very attractive way.
Because Ringo a very simple game is a very challenging fighting sport, combining maximal efforts of the soul and body with all natural human movements: running, turnovers, jumping, catching, throwing and bending.
To become a Ringo champion you need forecast ability of a
chase player, tactic and reflection of a fencer, will power of a boxer, speed of a sprinter, Intellectual link of partners, space imagination as a pilot and endurance of a marathon runner. Permanent start and break after catch create active system of interval training. Rule
about throwing with catching ensures symmetry of the brain activity and team Ringo competition with two rings simultaneously faster than any other sport improves reflex and space imagination.
Ringo is one of the few games symmetry of the brain in
operation an improvement in the functioning of both hemispheres of the brain, being in fact the cheapest and simplest way of tapping human intelligence resources. To quote professor Wlodzimierz Starosta researcher at the institute of sport in Warsaw,“ Sport in the Elixir of the youth and Ringo is a universal sport, easily available to everyone, Ringo ensures full symmetry of movement and so accelerates the functional development of the brain.”
The Name from Acapulco I was in the 1968 Olympic games in Mexico with two aims, says the founder of Ringo Wlodzimierz Stryzewski. First I wanted to participate in the Olympic press games in which I won the nineteenth Olympic medal for Poland for my
Radio news report from the fencing finals and second to
promote my sport.
I asked the victorious Mexican player whom they considered the best. As it would be expected they volunteered their captain, I challenged him to a match Mexico and Poland in Ringo. He learnt the rules almost immediately and almost immediately understood how much the game would be an advantage to his team. Tired but
very happy he wanted to buy rings for all his friends so he said, where could I buy this ring mister………….? He asked- I said Stryzewski he attempted thrice to repeat my surname, never giving up like a true sportsman he said, adding the Spanish ending to the English noun baptizing my sport. Where can I buy this ring mister Ringo?

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

I was the captain of the Polish epee fencing team for the

Academic World Championships 1959 in Turin says

Wlodzimier Stryzewski the founder of Ringo. My minister

did not allow me to take part in the training camp in

Zakopane, but only gave me the seven days off I needed to

go to Turin fort he tournament. My friends and my coach

all went to Zakopane. I remained in Warsaw, alone and had

to prepare myself the best I could on my own. Anyone who

has ever taken part in a competitive sport will know that

this was virtually impossible.

But I did not want to fail my friends on the team. Every

day after work I went to my sports club on the bank of

the River Vistula, I worked my legs, shadow-fenced

practiced foils and repartees against a screen. I jogged

on the beach and did bar exercise to work up my

endurance. However, fencing is a thinking sport. I needed

a living, intelligent partner- and I did not even have

time to train anyone who would to a minor degree be able

to spar with me. Time was running out. Then ringo came to

my help.

As I looked at a sunlit empty volleyball court, I had a

stroke of genius, an explosion of brilliance: in my

childhood I and a small friend played catch with a tyre

which had come off a pram, which we would throw over the

tops of horse-drawn carriages driven a long the main road

of Sochaczew, my home town. Oh yes! The field can

symbolize my body. The tyre – is my sword. There shall be

no time limit between the catching and the throwing, so I

never know when my opponent will begin his attack and in

which direction, as in any fighting game. I’ll have to

function like one of those smart missiles, foresee the

intention of my opponent and head for the area where I

expect his throw to land, catch foresee the intention of

my opponent and head for the area where I expect his

throw to land, catch it and protect my part of the field,

just as in a Fencing match when I need to evaluate the

situation and, using chess logic, select the best

Variant of cover or counterattack to protect my own body

and score the body of opponent.

I borrowed a tare from one surprised young mother. I

invited a young man to play. He was certainly not pleased

as he lifted himself off his rug on the beach and tore

himself away from a longhaired beauty and a bottle of

beer. I told him – if I win a medal in Turin, he’ll have

had a hand in it. More, if he wins, I’II stand him a

whole case of beer,25 bottles. If I win, he only needs to

buy me a bottle of orangeade. Obviously, my well Muscled

opponent had not a chance in our duel, since ringo is, in

its essence, kin to Fencing, and he was playing for the

first time ever, while I was one of the worlds best.

I served just over the net, right into his hand. He

caught the ring easily, ran up to the net, I can just see

that beer- he shouted, laughing.

I replied – One for me. First, you have to throw the

ring from the spot where you caught it, second – when

throwing at least one foot must touch the ground. You may

only leap when catching, never when throwing. Otherwise

the defending party would have no chance at all and the

entire game would be senseless. But why? – He demanded.

Because it’s my game and my rules – I said. That

convinced him. – All right, but let’s write them down

somewhere to prevent arguments later.

And so, in July 1959, on the bank of the Vistula in

Warsaw I wrote down my First version of ringo rules. A

new sport was born. I won15: 2 and my opponent was

soaking I won 15:2 and my opponent was soaking wet and

panting. ’That was a good game’, he said. ’But I’m

whacked, so you will have to get your own

orangeade. ’Then he added: ‘my brother plays first-

league soccer with the Legia team. Tomorrow he’ll win the

beer. I enjoyed our game…’

The soccer player did not win with the fencer, nor did

any of the sportsmen from the beach but my bet and

interest in the game played with a rubber ring brought

many new challengers. My form got better every day.

In Turin, I won all 4 matches against the Hungarians

who one year later, during the 1960 Olympics in Rome won

Gold in epee fencing, and the silver medal of vice

champion of the world was mine.

Nobody believed that I owed my triumphant to children’s

play with a silly rubber pram tare on a volleyball court.

My teammate thought I was trained confidentially with my

old friends: best fencer of all times Eduardo Mangiarotti

in Italy four times world foil champion Christian

d’Oriola in France, world epee champion Bill Hoskyns in

England or world epee champion Hans Drakenberg in Sweden…

But not even the most scholars nor Olympic Champion in

any chosen sport will understand the assets of ringo by

watching from the sidelines.

I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE THAT THE ONE AND ONLY WAY TO

UNDERSTAND AND APPRECIATE THE CONCEPT OF RINGO IS TO PLAY
